Karen, Veterinary Technician

Karen, Veterinary Nurse Karen, our head veterinary nurse, has been with Park Pet Hospital since January of 2004 and has been working in a veterinary-related field for the past 20 years. Karen assists in all facets of pet care, including surgical preparation, anesthesia monitoring, monitoring hospitalized patients, processing lab samples and much more.

"The best part of my job is being part of a team that's committed to compassionate medical care," she said. "The clinic owners provide a great work environment for employees in addition to the compassionate care that meets the needs of each pet."

Karen shares her home with two dogs, Bella and Zeke, and her hobbies include reading, gardening, hiking and spending time with family.

Leanne, Veterinary Technician

Leanne, Veterinary Technician Leanne has been a veterinary technician with Park Pet Hospital for the past 32 years (she is also married to Dr. Hoppe). When asked what she likes best about her job, Leanne said "All of it!" And she does quite a bit, including drawing blood samples, IVs, monitoring anesthesia, providing nursing care for hospitalized patients and taking x-rays. She is always calm, helpful and friendly.

"Park Pet Hospital is like a second family. Everybody is so caring and compassionate towards each other and our clients and their pets," Leanne said. "Our clinic puts a strong emphasis on keeping up-to-date with advances in the veterinary field and practicing high quality medicine."

Leanne and her husband share their home with two dogs, Wisky and Carmel, and her hobbies include hiking, reading, enjoying the outdoors and spending time with her family.

Kim, Veterinary Assistant

Kim, veterinary assistant Veterinary assistant Kim has been with us since August of 2007. She's a great team player and always stays calm when things get hectic. Kim assists the veterinarians with exams, blood draws and helps keep the hospital clean and orderly. She is currently enrolled in Milwaukee Area Technical College pursuing an associate's degree in nursing.

"All of the staff gets along well and are team players. Everyone is caring, compassionate and concerned about the wellbeing and health of our patients," Kim said.

She shares her home with a golden lab/retriever mix named Roxy and two cats named Pudge and Lady. She loves spending time with her children and listening to music, reading, watching movies, traveling, spending time outdoors and scrapbooking.

Pat, Veterinary Technician

Pat, Veterinary TechnicianPat is a certified veterinary technician who has been with Park Pet Hospital since 2002 and has been working in an animal related field since 1994. She assists with caring for our hospitalized pets, laboratory sample processing and analysis, taking x-rays, anesthesia monitoring and client education. Pat has an associate's degree in veterinary science and is currently completing her bachelor's degree at the University of Wisconsin.

"I like working at Park Pet Hospital because I enjoy the people I work with. Everyone cares about animals and their owners. It has a great culture," she said.

Pat spends some of her time volunteering for the Boy Scouts, camping, hiking, fishing, biking, gardening and going to the movies.

Katrina, Veterinary Assistant

Katrina, Veterinary TechnicianKatrina joined our practice early in 2014 and has a background working for a dog-walking service and at a large pet store. She is eagerly learning the many facets of veterinary medicine and her responsibilities include patient care and comfort, assisting the veterinarians, handling lab tests and taking radiographs. Her parents have had extensive experience with dog-training and Katrina has participated in many classes with her family’s pets, and is currently continuing with her own dog’s training.

“I really enjoy the positive attitude at Park Pet Hospital. It’s a really close knit staff of people who genuinely care about animals and do the most they can do for their patients.”

Katrina currently has a dog named Slade, 4 cats, 2 rats, 2 finches and one chinchilla. In her spare time, Katrina enjoys hiking, reading, writing, and playing the violin.

Jo Ann, Receptionist

Jo Ann, Receptionist

Our receptionist Jo Ann joined the staff at Park Pet Hospital in May of 1994. She's been greeting our clients and their pets here for more than 18 years. (She's been in the field of veterinary care for 22 years.) Jo Ann is friendly and always smiling.

"I like the way the doctors and staff treat the pets and their owners," Jo Ann said. "They are kind, gentle and honest. We love our clients' pets as if they were our own."

Jo Ann has two cats, Zazzel and Tippy, and she's an avid cat-sitter. Jo Ann is a self-described crafty person who enjoys beading, cross-stitching and she loves to travel.

Sandy, Receptionist

Sandy, ReceptionsitOur receptionist Sandy has been with Park Pet Hospital for 11 years. She's the one who checks our clients and their pets in and out of the clinic, and she also assists with the daily operation of our facility. She's excellent at interacting with our clients.

Sandy has two dogs, Izzy and Archer, and two cats, Minnee Mouser and Spydee Man. Her hobbies include running, scrapbooking, cardmaking, rock climbing and sailing.

Heather, Receptionist

Heather, Receptionist Heather is one of our receptionists who helps answer client calls, schedules appointments, checks pets in and out and performs a variety of other tasks as well. She's been with us since 2005 and has been working in a veterinary-related field for the past 16 years.

"We are a very close-knit staff. It's more like a family," Heather said. "Everyone is kind and hardworking."

Heather has two cats, Maebel and Esther, and she enjoys spending time with her family and her kids, taking family walks and bike rides, reading books and working in her yard.
